Mutha river is the
lifeline of Pune city
River Cleaning Project
Sab Ka Mangal Ho foundation partnered with INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art & Cultural Heritage) to clean the rivers of Pune and restore them back to their original glory. Mutha river is the lifeline of Pune city but in recent times it has become a convenient garbage and sewage carrier.
Healthy participation of people and NGOs were needed to curb encroachments and the vicinity around the river was cleaned. This resulted in easing the natural flow of the river, ensuring the preservation of flood plains and their biodiversity for environmental balance.
Littering carelessly in rivers creates impediments to the natural flow of rivers and destroys the floodplains and their biodiversity causing an increase in flood levels and flood frequencies. Protection of the floodplains along rivers and biodiversity.
Sab Ka Mangal Ho Foundation engaged INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art & Cultural Heritage) to clean the rivers of Pune in order to bring them back to their original natural state under the auspices of Mrs. Anu Aga of Thermax Ltd.
