The Meaning

Sab – all,
Ka – of
Mangal – Well Being
Ho – be
In short it means well-being of all.

Each one of us have different circumstances and are at different place and irrespective of time of the day, month, year or the phase of life, we all seek out well-being.

We may express our desire to acquire or possess different objects in life but at the core of all pursuits is the well-being of different aspects of our personality. At the physical level, we all seek good health, at the emotional we seek peace of mind, at the intellectual level we do not want confusion and seek clarity and at the deepest spiritual level, we seek happiness.

Our life stories our stories of our pursuit of happiness. The common thread that ties us all together, is what connects us to one another. We all do things that take us closer to our goal of happiness. Sab Ka Mangal Ho or wellness of all is the expression of this one universal desire that we all have and what better way there can be then to help each other in our life journeys.

Is this some utopian dream or can we do something about it. In the world that we have created for ourselves, we over emphasize the need for trading of products and services. We have as if have to be reminded of our real purpose, to be happy. What if we can spin a web out of this common pursuit a facilitator of sorts that brings happy selfless people together to share and expression of their efforts creates a ripple in the hearts of the souls touched, where they start dancing in Glee as if waving in happiness to each wave that is passing by. And when these souls retire for the day, they are like a calm lake reflecting the sky’s and stars as if they had come down on earth and if not physically all the joy in this world and the nether world’s was within our embrace in an effortless song of our life’s.

May the unseen powers that nourish us and guide us, what ever we may call them help us make this world a happier place until one day we reach a zenith of our quest when we need not be told to “Be happy” as we would have reclaimed our own being.

The Poem ‘Song Of The Self’ is a translation of “Atma Shatkam’ a beautiful poem written by Jagadguru Shri. Adi Shankaracharya. It is a process of internalization and realization of the self within, which is nothing but the universal consciousness. It is a state of Sat-Chit-Anand; The supreme Bliss.
